Lazy Instant Pot Bone Broth

Updated: Nov 19

Time: Prep 1 minute, cook time 4 hours Servings: 8-10

This Instant Pot bone broth recipe is super easy and can be made with free-range chicken or grass-fed beef bones. There's zero prep work because you get rid of everything except the broth in the end. Simply throw everything into your Instant Pot and select the 'Soup broth' setting or set to high pressure with sealing for 4 hours cook time and voila, a happy gut for you!

What you need to make this recipe:
  • 2 lbs bones of choice

  • 1 heaping tbsp peppercorns

  • 1 inch thumb, fresh turmeric

  • 1 inch thumb, fresh ginger

  • 1 onion cut in half

  • 2-3 cloves fresh garlic, crushed (you can leave peel on)

  • Any fresh herbs you have on hand (sage, thyme, oregano, parsley, etc all work -just throw them in whole after rinsing

  • a splash of avocado oil

  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar (Don't skip this step! It's key for releasing the healing collagen and amino acids from the bones)

What to do to make this recipe:
  1. Throw everything into your Instant Pot

  2. Select the 'Soup broth' setting or set your Instant Pot to high pressure with sealing for 4 hours cook time

  3. When done, strain everything to reserve only the broth

  4. Fill broth to use within 5 days into mason jar and store in fridge or freeze up to 6 months in freezer friendly glass storage containers.
